It sure looks like a non-rebounding hammer gun to me. Enlarge the photo (zoom in) and you can clearly see the hammer down and firing pin extended. Exactly the opposite of a rebounder.

I've put between 2700 and 2900 cartridges through my Joseph Lang non-rebounder in slightly over 3 years. I shoot it for sporting clays and quail and, from a safety standpoint, I am as comfortable carrying it as any gun I own. However, to safely shoot a non-rebounder the habit of half-cocking before opening must become second nature.

I'm sure glad that Dig (Small Bore) brought this gun to the US because it is definitely my favorite shotgun.

FlyChamps, I went back and enlarged that photo and am now certain she's a rebounder. I can see the battered hammer end of the firing pin and those early hammers had deeply recessed cups identical to percussion hammers. The hammer is not touching the firing pin and won't when the gun is loaded and the pin is forced to retract. And most of these earlier guns did not have spring loaded firing pins, which is why the pin is protruding through the breech.

Joe, confirmed it's a rebounder, no half cock position for the hammers.

Thanks to all.
