Michael: I have been hospitalized for a while but will take some decent (I hope) pictures of the Howe 400Whelen. It is not close to me right now but I think it is marked J.V. Howe Philadelphia. You bought the cocking piece sight from this rifle after I had a Lyman 48 installed (badly) Anyway It won't hit my eye cause once it ticked my glasses.
The outside of the rifle is original I think except for the butchered 48 installation. Inside was different. Needed a lot of repair (glass) to fix what someone had done.
I haven't fired the rifle since the new sight was installed but intend to and send you the results.
