Misfires are where you find'em. They come and they go, in the same brand. Almost all the misfires I have, and see, are from primers seated too deep. I have more misfires with American "big name brand" shells than with any others, including shells manufactured in Argentina. Last trip there I fired 5350 rounds of 20 gauge, RD CAZA, I think they said on the boxes, without one misfire. Not one!
OBTW, never a misfire with Polywad 12 ga. 7/8 oz. 2 1/2" loads either.

Larry, the Gun Club has had a problem with hard primers.
This has supposedly been 'fixed'.
Maybe you had an old box...
Or, maybe it isn't fixed.
I'm using up my stock in a BT-99... that center punches them well.

Went out this weekend for some pasture trap with 10 boxes of Polywad 16 gauge shells, not one problem with them. I’ll have to admit they’re excellent performing shells. Great service from them also real nice people.

I have had nothing but good results from Polywad ammuniton and components over the last twenty five years.
I had the same problem Larry did with Gun Club twenty gauge; one or two in a box would not fire in a S&W Gold Elite. The primers were only slightly dented. On measurement, the gun had slighly deeper rim cuts than other twentys I've measured. It functioned perfectly with other promo loads including Winchester and Federal. No problem either with other Remingtons or B&P. On further examination, the problem was with the ammuntion; the rim thickness was thiner on those that did'nt fire.
Manufacturers have to make firearm chambers, rim-cuts, etc., to some kind of average tolerance. I'm guessing that's probably why the Blaser F3 had problems when it first appeared in the US; the rim-cut was made for average Euro ammuntion dimensions and was too deep for some American ammuntion.
Good shooting,
C.

Rookhawk - Could you provide the Lot number whence those bad cartridges came? Many Thanks - Marc

Krakow,
I gave Polywad the lot numbers (they lost them) and then I threw away my empty boxes.
The problem was with the same things you had: 2.5" vintager (non-spreadR), 1 ounce shot, 12 gauge, #6 and #7.5 shot.
The rounds I experienced were shipped from Polywad to distribution on 11/3/2010.

I use RST and RST only in all my doubles. I have never had a misfire that could be attributed to the ammunition. Morris and Alex are two stand-up people who take care of their customers.

Yeah I'd say that would be the way to solve any ammo problems you might be having. Just order from RST and you'll be fine in all respects. And if (amazingly) you did have a problem, all you'd have to do is call and they'd take care of it immediately. There would be no run around, no missed calls, no losing lot numbers, etc etc. A better pair of businessmen don't exist as far as I know.

Only one problem with RST in my mind: $$$$
RST is a $13 a box product. Polywad was $11. B&P Subsounds are $8. I'm now trying B&Ps with a multicase discount that brings me down to half the price of an RST.
I still have only shot two boxes of my B&Ps so I can't give a firm recommendation as of yet. TBD.
I've bought and shot several boxes of RST over the years and never had a problem with their function.

RST is a $13 a box product. Wow! 52 cents per round. That'll pay for a reloader REAL quick. Stan
