I brought 3 shotguns to the last gun show here in January. A 12 O/U,a 16 O/U,and a 20-870 pump. I sold the 12 and the 20 and ended up bringing the 16 0/U home.
N.B: Not One of Bloomburgs straw purchasers tried to buy any of them! Jim --??hat is a Bloomburg straw purchase? My 12 gauges are alive and doing well, and I see 12 gauge shotguns, not just Parkers, being sold on the PGCA website all the time. Price it right and it will sell, IMO! That left wing jerk that passes for a Mayor in NY CIty,Michael Bloomburg, sent some of his stooges into the Crossroads gun show here last month in an attempt to coerce private individuals into illegally selling them guns since they were out of State. Theur primary attempt was to purchase newer pistols and assault type rifles. A couple of sellers actually bit on this so now Bloomburg is maintaning that the gun show "loophole" must be closed even though the overwhelming majority of sellers refused. In fact,he actually broke the law by trying to make straw purchases but don't hold your breath waiting for the BATF to go after him. BTW: This is a big show and, according to the promoter, there are 20 + BATF agents working it undercover. Isn't it amazing that they've never arrested anyone for this type of activity in the past? Jim

... Yes, the face of shooting is certainly changing. Go west Chuck, I 'went West', at least as far West as northeast Mexico in Tamaulipas State. I found lots and lots of wild bobwhites to, but let me tell you how we "hunted". We followed a milo baited two path trail out through a huge pasture. I never saw the sides or end of the pasture, but I know it was one because we went in through a cattle gate. "We" were 4 shooters, 4 'birdboys, and a 'guide' (who had a radio to tell the truck to come get us when we'd had enough). Oh yes, there was also a skinny little female pointer there for show, but who spent the whole time sitting in the trail trying to pick cactus balls out of her poor feet; how do you western guys put up with all that cactus? Anyhow we 'hunted' by lining up four guns abreast with two on either side of the baited trail, the birdboys behind the hunters, the guide in the trail, and the bird dog sitting in the trail picking cactus. All the quail in that pasture must have come to the trail in order to enjoy the free milo feast. We flushed a covey every fifty yards or so on one side or the other of the trail and did not follow singles. The birdboys rushed out at the flush to retrieve birds; I wish my dogs could 'mark' as well as those boys did. Different, but pretty sporty shooting. I think I'll stick to my Southern piney woods and wiregrass and let the dogs join in on the fun. Yeah, I know that is not the way you hunt birds, Chuck but that was my experience with 'Western Quail'...Geo

Mike's little walks invariably turn into a journada del muerto* for most mortal men and dogs. He'll suggest a short stroll around a windmill in a pature corner and six hours later, with a glazed expression in his eyes, he'll be apologizing for the "walk" being a little longer than he expected and for being lost half of the time. And he has no qualms dragging a 70 year old man through this hell. Only two days ago, as I drug myself back to the car whimpering incoherent moans, he compassionately commented, "I don't know why I hunted over there, the birds are always in the corner". Not more'n hundred yards from the truck! But we did get our exercise. Course I had to carry one of his dogs back that had passed out from heat exhaustion. Oh yes.....we didn't even see a single bird on that trip. I carried the perfect gun for this little walk: a 16 gauge hammer single shot at 4 1/2 pounds. Only thing it was used for was a crutch. Damned! but I love bird hunting....and Chinese water torture....and....hitting my thumb with a hammer....and....!

italian - I hear all the time that we don't need new gun laws, just enforce those on the books.
Well... I don't care what the circumstances were but those jerks selling illegally harmed all of us.
Your anger is misplaced.
