Mark,
I have used Federal and Winchester 11/16 oz #6 successfully and this year I was using the relatively new 3/4 oz. Winchester #6 load out of a 28" Win M-42 full choked gun. Although I haven't measured the choke in this gun, I've heard that they run around .017" choke. It knocked down birds pretty far out with authority. I blocked a corner of a field at the landowners direction. When he asked me to do it, he looked at my gun and had reservations, but then waved me on. After I killed two birds on that corner, he was very surprised.

If I can find them, I may try the 3/4 oz Win load in #5. Pattern density might be starting to get thin enough to make it a wash against the #6 load. Hunting experience will tell.

For the chukar, the #6 load is a solid load.
