Just purchased a Francotte 16 boxlock my question is that where the wood meets the action there is play, what could cause that and can it get corrected?also one of the ejectors has an issue after the gun is fired and it ejects the shell and you close the gun and open it again it keeps ejecting for about ten times.Any help will greatly be appreciated.

loose screws or cracked stock are the first places to look. May be the ideal time to glass bed it.

Jim:
It is difficult to understand what you mean by "play," but if the action frame seems loose on the stock head, it may be due to wood shrinkage. This can also effect the hand pin/wood in the wrist area. It also puts the stock at risk for splitting under recoil as the hand pin drives back into the wood.

The good news is it can be fixed by a good stocker. As for the ejector issue, it pays to take that to an experienced professional. Merrington or Tate are my top choices for ejector ills.

Best, Kensal
