Had been looking for a waterfowl gun for a while and found an ideal candidate this weekend. It is a Parker Repro 12 with 32" barrels. To the extent that any repos have "collector" value, this one has none because the original owner added a leather covered pad and briley tubes. My question is with regard to barrel length. These are a full 32" with 3 inch chambers. If he had them built then he went to great expense because they have the engraving wedge on the sides like the other BHE's I have seen. Soooo did any of the repros come with 32's?

I have an old article that's an interview with Jack Skeuse. He refers to barrel lengths of 26, 28, and 30". I doubt there are very many out there sporting even 30" barrels, and a BHE with long barrels would have to be extremely rare. That one, assuming someone didn't have 32" barrels off an original Parker refitted, engraved, etc, would almost have to be one of a kind if it's factory original. Would have been one heck of a collector gun, assuming all original, if the owner hadn't modified it with a pad and choke tubes.

They have been sn'd to the frame, but I doubt they are original, and the pad almost certainly couldn't have been. The briley's also wouldn't have been original. The wood is very dark exhibition class which is also different than the lighter finish I have seen on most repros. Anyway, a very classy "shooter" which will get a work out in Sask this fall and a leaast a couple of trips on box birds before then.

You might post some pics of the watertable and proof marks.

The markings on my 28g Repro look like this.

Back in the early 90's I saw a 12 gauge Parker Repro with 30" barrels. I thought it was strange since I had not known them to even make anything longer than 28".
I also latter owned a DHE 12 bore Repro that had 28" BHE barrels with the engraved wedges. Wished I had that one back!

I once owned a Parker Reproduction Steel Shot Special 2-barrel set with 28" i.c./mod.(it was actually like .008 and .015)and 30"mod./full, with sst, beavertail, and pistol grip in a 2-barrel case. Sold it to an airline pilot in NY.

I was pretty close to the Parker Repro effort through John Allen, who was with Dunn's/Paul Jaeger in Grand Junction, TN at the time. John collaborated with Jack Skeuse to get the Steel Shot Special version done.

To my knowledge, there is no such thing as 32" Repro barrels.
