Do not neglect to visit the armory at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. They have an outstanding collection of early firearms up to a Winchester 1894 with engraving and other decoration by Tiffany & Company. There are also some fine percussion Colts and mid-19th Century percussion double barreled shotguns. The Museum's collection dates back to the days when gentlemen & ladies of aesthetic discernment in New York City were also shooters.
