Dorado is a salt water fish (Same as Mahi-Mahi- Dolphin) Trout fishing in Argentina can be great. We did a combination cast and blast trip. Good times. Trip was orchestrated by Frontiers. They do a great job.

Tudurgs, I believe they are talking about a different kind of 'Dorado'. There is a freshwater fish in the characin family, which shares the name Dorado with the dolphin fish you mentioned.
It looks like a salmonoid but is from a completely different fish family. They are great sport and eating fish and grow to thirty or fort pounds or larger in some of the rivers feeding the Rio Plata...Geo

This is the freshwater "Dorado" they have (salminus maxillosus). (Dorado means Golden, btw.) This one was caught in the Paraná river and weighed 16.8 kg: JC

JC, as a youngster I grew up with images and my uncle's stories......fishing for Dorado in Paso de la Patria, Corrientes.
One of these days I'm going to make the trip back home
