If it wasnt for the British and their steam catapult the aircraft carrier would be a thing of the past.

With the maneuvers Lee was pulling off as in splitting his army time and time again in order to cross major rivers and flank the Northern armies, it is puzzling as to why the South lost. However with industry playing a bigger and bigger part in warfare it wasnt why the South lost but it is a tribute to their armies and the genius and quality of their officers that they were able to last as long as they did.
