Magnificent is right, probably the nicest set of Ideals on earth. If there is a nicer pair out there, I would love to see them!
Larry,
I can operate an Ideal or a Darne just as fast as anyone can operate a gun with a top lever, side lever, jones underlever etc. All it takes is practice and repetition.
Dustin
Dustin, have you ever shot driven with a loader? If we're talking traditional driven shooting, a pair of guns and a loader, the question is only partially how fast you can get the gun open. The other part is how fast the loader can reload, so that your gun is ready quickly after you've fired two more rounds with the other one of the pair. I've shot a flurry (76 targets in 2 1/2 minutes) with a top lever pair and a loader. I can't imagine that it would be that fast with a pair of Darnes, although maybe if both were practiced with Darnes; more likely I'd think with the Ideal. But when loading, you have gravity working on your side with a standard break action, which you don't have with a Darne. You'll have to come to the UP Shoot and give the flurry a go with a pair of Darnes.
