Mark, please tell us more about shooting steel through your damascus guns. Chokes, wall thickness, condition of bores, etc.

These are things one must prove to themself for not matter what I say it will be doubted.

Buy a cheap old American Damascus double like a Baker Batavia or Meridian. Set it up lashed to an old tire. Load with modern steel shot. Fire using 20' of cord. Reload and shoot until you blow a barrel or unravel the muzzle. Judge the results for yourself.

Hunt with a Parker or LC Smith Damsacus barreled gun which were proofed to modern pressures.

Use handloaded nice shot or RST shells, and shoot with comfort and confidence. In fact, you will have better ballistics with nice shot than steel.

I sure wish nice shot would get to a price a non hand loader could aford to shoot it, It's a great load for fowl!
