Matter of fact, I have carried both--for both grouse and woodcock, and pheasants. Grouse and woodcock, I'd sooner carry the 28ga Repro. Pheasants, the BSS . . . the weight of which is pretty similar to that of a 20ga Repro. And I say that in spite of the fact that I made a run on preserve pheasants with a 28ga Repro that I never expect to repeat, with any gun or gauge. But those were preserve birds (albeit good ones), and I'd sooner take the extra weight and carry a 20 for wild ones.
