Now Steve, you oughta remember that those dorm room doors were made out of steel! No, I lived up on the hill, in a converted motel on the old highway above the golf course between Trinidad and Raton Pass, right next door to what in those days was a bakery. We used to stop at the bakery after midnight on our way back to our apartment and pick up a few freshly-baked loaves. Most of the time we were walking, of course, somewhat over a mile each way to the college.

Those were certainly Shining Times, too bad we didn't know enough back then to properly appreciate them....

Thik I remember thatplace, must have been close to the Chinese restaurant? I was married and lived in suburban Cokedale (pop. 112) for the entire three years. When asked what my wife wanted for her birthday in June she replied, "To get the f$%!K out of Trinidad!"
Our dog & pony show rolled out about June 25, 1978.
Certainly one of the best times of my life, and I certainly did my best to appreciate it in the moment...
Those candle blower primers would have been great trading stock on the GS Dept. Bulletin Board, eh?

Never even heard of Speer's plastic ammo. It was no fun way back in my younger dumber days. Popping primers, in my revolvers for wax practice slugs, would back out a bit and hang up the cylinder. If I could've figured it out, I'm sure I would've fired thousands of them in the dead of winter, instead of studying.
