Springer moves like tornado, that's true. But in UK they try to use springers in hard covered areas in woods first of all, where springers allways win among all dogs. In open areas like we can see in this short movie springers got no enough nose to smell birds like pointing dogs do and second there is some lack in enthusiasm when this springer retrieves and its big fault for English springer.

I've been using English Cockers (the field bred kind not the show crap) and I hunt everything from upland to waterfowl with them. Never seen a better natural retriever that can also work any cover and never runs out of gas.
Power is defined as strength held in reserve.
