Should have been more clear. In 12 ga. all the mod 23's that I have seen advertised were choked MOD & I/C when the barrel length was 26". Anything longer seems to be FULL/MOD. Just wanted to know if all 26" barrelled 12ga. Mod 23's were choked MOD & I/C by Winchester?

That how they were cataloged in the U.S.
There may have been some 26" in IC/IM made for the European market. I know for sure that there were 28" IC/IM in both 12 and 20 for the European market. They had splinter forearms and could be had with straight or pistol grips and single or double triggers.

Just an FYI, my Pigeon Grade XTR measures 25 1/2 barrels with Winchokes that extend 5/16ths of an inch.

Thanks fellas. Just one more question. Was the finish on the Mode; 23's SATIN, or GLOSS, from the factory or did they come both ways???

Not sure if your talking about the frame or the barrels, but the barrels were polished blue.
The frames polished with a silver nitrate(or nitrite, whichever the case may be) finish. Don't think I would call them gloss. They might appear more satin but they weren't called that. Some models had polished blue frames.

MODEL 23s receivers came both blued and "polished" without bluing. (Don't know what finish was used.) Color of receiver depended on specific model.

Most were gloss. The European models were satin(not true oil).
