It sounds like you are looking at a fairly early etched Baker A-Grade if Damascus or B-Grade if Twist. October 13, 1891, and August 23, 1892, are for Frank A. Hollenbeck Patents No. 461182 and 481327, both assigned to the Baker Gun & Forging Co. of Batavia, New York. The logo on the butt plate sould be BG&FCo. Hollenbeck had a third patent issued while he was in Batavia, Patent No. 446166, granted Feb. 10, 1891. That could be the faint "Pat. 55B1091" you see.
