In Arizona,where I live, this would ensure you ended up in jail if caught. We Have a prohibition here barring the firing of any weapons within the City limits anywhere in Arizona called Shannon's Law. The law was enacted after a 14 year old named Shannon while sitting in her backyard was tragically killed by someone shooting a firearm into the air on New Years Eve several years ago. This has always been a popular and irresponsible(IMO) activity of certain ethnic groups in the past but the law has somewhat curtailed the practice. I don't think that arguing you were only firing blanks would get you off the hook either.
