If the above gun was in Current Condition level four (CC4 = heavy use, but no abuse) the price would about double; BV3-OQ7-CC4 = $1225, so in 16 gauge $1225 X 1.5 = $1835. So, Mike, if your gun is a better grade or in better condition, you were probably quite right to turn down $1600.
The $770 (you have to include the buyer's premium in the price, esp. the 20% buyer's premium from the bigger UK auctions!) seems to fit what we know. Had the price been much more or much less, we would have had to estimate whether there was a condition we had assumed incorrectly or if someone had really incorrectly valued the gun.
Remember, I don't represent my model as nailing the price, rather I think it will get you near enough to the price to recognize bargains and keep from getting ripped too badly. Also, it organizes guns in a way that it makes understanding/seeing the overall Brit/Continental market much easier for most people. From this jumpstart, it is easier to start adding in details. IMO.
