Hi all, just was wondering what a good price is for the 16/20 set with case in excellent shape?
Also, for you owners, what's your impression of this set (or Parker Repos in general)?
I know there have been issues with the ST.

With the Krieghoff 16-ga. bbls. a good price today for a 20/16 bi-gauge set in excellent condition would be around $5500.00. Two years ago the same sets were changing hands regularly for $6500.00 to $7000.00---and sometimes for a little more. I know of a rare configured set (both bbls. 28", both sets of bbls. factory choked Q1/Q2, SG, SPL and DT's that sold three years ago for $8000.00.
I love my Repros---all 5 of them. My only ST Repro is undergoing a SST to DT conversion as I type this, which will make it the configuration I have been searching for for fourteen years.

Not all 16 gauge barrels were well fitted to the receiver, even when done by Skeuse's gunsmith. A bad fit will be with you forever.

I thilnk it will be very hard to find a 16/20 in good condition for $5500! I have recently seen them for the $6500 number but that one was with non Krieghoff barrels (the ones Galazan was selling).

Saw one new in the box/case at the Cabela's in Hamburg a couple of years ago. Believe the asking price was circa $8,000.

Greg, I've seen a set or two of barrels (original) that did not fit all that well either. I'd definitely want to check that before buying. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the 20ga Repros. I find them too heavy for a 20ga. Most are right around 6 1/2 with 26" barrels. You lose some of that weight with the 16ga barrels because it's on a 20ga frame, so that's a plus for the 16ga half of the set.

Bob Jurewicz Bob, Do you believe that 16/20 set w/the Galazan bbls. was a "good price"? I guess it depends on your perspective---are you a buyer...or are you a seller? You probably missed the 16/20 set w/Krieghoff's that Robin Hollow had listed recently, both bbls. 28", SG, SPL, DT's with a very nicely figured stock. They were asking $5495.00 for it, it took several weeks to sell. We're still in a tough economy, but things will eventually turnaround and these guns will again be appreciating as they are wonderful guns and they ain't making any mo'.

Check out all of the available sites on the internet; GunsAmerica, etc. If you find one for $5,500 in excellent shape, buy it. $6,500 appears to be the minimum. As to the guns themselves, a 16 gauge on a 20 gauge frame is going to kick you more than a 12 gauge will. Only way to avoid that is to use 2.5 inch light loads, in which case, you should simply get a 20 gauge and save some money. Before the 16 ga. fans jump on me, I have a 16 ga. Fox that I really like.

I had a 20 gauge, 28" Double Trigger, Pistol Grip. Gun weight 6 lbs 12 oz and felt ungodly heavy for a 20 gauge bird gun. I promptly resold it (for a bit of a profit). Was a very nicely made gun, but it sure wasn't something I wanted to carry up and down mountains.
