You might still show it to a gunsmith knowledgeable of SXS's. I've regularly shot a number of "clunkers", I just used either BP reloads or Winchester AA Low recoil/noise shells. I had one no-name clunker with a Lefaucheux break action that, when enough people asked me what it was, I finally had JABC engraved on the sidelocks. I used it for sporting clays at doublegun meets.

PS It's often amazing how nice these old clunkers can look after being freshened up.
