Bill - I plan to bring a "new-to-me" 16 gauge Lindner game gun down to the Southern for show and tell. I'm looking forward to seeing this one in person.

Not so, Ted--or at least not by my standards. But then I'm used to shooting skeet, low gun, with sub-6# game guns. And I really appreciate "light" when I'm hunting grouse and woodcock, and doing a lot of one-hand carrying.

Doug,
By the looks of it the Daly cleaned up really nice. You should be proud of her and I'm sure you will enjoy many great days afield together.

After looking at your Daly, you now have my head spinning again about the one I talked to you about.

Great Job,
Paul

A very lovely gun Doug! Lots of class, lots of character.
Did I not see what gauge it is?

Thanks Steve! It is a 12 bore with 2 1/2" chambers.

I prefer to shoot B&P F2's in it mainly because they are kinder to my shoulder wih a 6 lb 4 oz gun.

Hi Glenn -

I own a Daly Prussian Diamond Grade SxS model 275 and the barrels need rebluing. I know London's best guns have a "Best English Blacking" finish - like wet black glass appearance. It is my understanding it's a "Slow Rust Blue" process but it takes much longer. Which one of these two bluing methods would match the original when it was made in 1910?

Thanks,

Joey

Hi Doug - nice gun!

I see by the pictures the case coloring has worn off or faded [as usual] leaving a "french gray" look to the receiver. My research leads me to believe the Prussian gun makers built superb shotguns but couldn't make their case colors last.

I have a Daly SxS with the same look and was debating having the gun case colored. I know you do great work restocking Daly's to their original specs and assume you are familiar with their restoration. Your thoughts on the metal work are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joey

The lighter color really does the wood justice. I think the wrist/POW area especially looks much better. Hard to explain, but even the checkering looks "classier" somehow.

All in all, very nice! Thanks for sharing.

I was hoping John Mann would comment on this but I would rather not say.

Doug,
As always, your stock work, and particularly the chequering, is breathtaking.

Best,
Ron.
