I have one of the Sedgley 300 H&H rifles, seerial number 700. It also has a cheek piece stock. Michael has some photos of it on the disc I sent to him some time ago. It is #17 on the CD.

Looks like a typical target (Camp Perry) type rifle of the day. In order to narrow it down some is there any serial numbers on the rifle?

Rifles like this were made by many of the custom shops of the day like Hoffman, Griffin & Howe and Niedner to name a few.

Sorry I don't do X's, is the Original rifle number gone? Is the three digit number on the back of the bolt and in the raceway at the back of the action?

"Camp Perry Rifle" is a generic term I use to describe pre-war custom, heavy barrel, bolt action center-fire rifles.
