IMHO objecting to country of origin is a false conceit. Galazan, and every company that sources off shore, does so because the market, read you and I, will no longer pay the cost of having it made domestically. It's not Galazan, it's us.
That's why there is a thriving Spanish gun business. Some significant number of consumers decided they were no longer prepared to pay for English guns.
I have been part owner of a factory in North America and have spent time in factories in China. I can tell you from personal observation that some factories in China (haven't been to them all LOL) are light years ahead of some North American factories (ditto) in terms of air quality, general cleanliness, employee safety etc.
How we should be judging products is in the price/quality/value equation, regardless of country of origin. That ensures we as consumers get the best product for the money we can afford or want to spend and it directs the industrial machine effectively.
Don't forget that it is only as they ascend out of subsistence poverty and into the middle class will the vast majority of chinese (and others), with full bellies and a secure home, turn their attention to things we take for granted....health care, the environment, worker safety etc.
When your trying to ensure you and your family don't starve, it's tough to pay attention to the plight of the panda.
