DT - Your post about Duleep Singh's tricked-out Purdey cheekpiece reminded me of a wonderful child's toy I saw my grand-nephew playing with over Christmas - a stick hobby horse with a full head, mane and ears of real horse hair. When you pulled the ear, a little recorder inside the head played the "clip-clop" sound of a pony galloping to a halt, followed closeby with a series of "whinnies". What about we rig a similar cheekpiece to a knackered-out Purdey for next year's Vintagers Concours? We could rig it so that when one's cheek was pressed against it, the sound of whirring wings is heard, followed by a stout, "Mark right!, Your bird, Sir!" KBM
