The earliest 16-gauge I've noted was in the 110xxx range. The April 1897 Remington Arms Co. catalogue introduces Remington Steel and Ordnance Steel barrels, and then a later in 1897 catalogue (October or November) introduces the 16-gauges.

I have a 10 gauge Remington 1894 A grade near your serial number. Does have a breakdown on the number of each gauge produced? I know the 12 gauge was most common.

I have never seen a breakdown by gauge for Remington Hammerless Doubles. Even though the 10-gauges were offered from beginning to end, and 16-gauges only from late 1897, I sure seem to see more 16-gauges than 10-gauges.

I only collect them in 16ga. now, I sold all of my 12ga. gun's many year's ago. I have a part's gun receiver and it was serial number 100034. It had the milled out water table and was not a bridge frame. It was stamped 100034 on one side of the water table and 34 was stamped on the other side of watertable. Terry
