First, as I thought Henry Voght of Chicago didn't make the examples with his name on them but I'm puzzled why his name would be around the cocking indicators. Now this is not the same drilling as posted on the Heinrich Scherping thread, but as usual the marks point back to a handful of master craftsmen from the Suhl & Zella-Mehlis area with this one pointing directly to F.W. Keßler.

I can't say if Merkel made it or not but I would look toward them, F.W. Keßler, Sempert & Kreighoff for the sourcing.
