Short update - No explanation about how the 16 was mistaken for a 28. But he did send back a short message...(quote)"Send it back if you don t want it. I will refund you money as long as the gun is in the same condition."
Good enough for me at this point. I'm sure the shipping won't be included but that can be added to the cost of "the learning curve" on my end.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll update if the transaction steers in another direction.

Seller should eat shipping, both ways. Don't expect much help from GB.

Seller should eat shipping, both ways. Absolutely!

I always heard that fraud in a firearms transaction was a federal issue. The threat alone should get their attention.

This is a clear case of misrepresentation, intentional or not. It was at least inattention to detail, and, as such, the seller should pay shipping both ways. If I couldn't get it, I would settle for a full refund, but a good seller would make it "right".

If this guy didn't refund my shipping both ways on this deal I'd make sure he didn't have an A+ rating after my feedback.
Stallones, I thought good old SLY from Springfield was out of the business since he can no longer buy the bottom of the barrel from the Westley Richards Agency shipments. I dealt with him in person once and, as I remember, every thing was copacetic.

"a good seller would make it "right"". No a good seller would be able to tell the difference between a 16 and a 28 or a 12 and a 10. I agree they should have to refund shipping both ways. Not likely to happen but they are entirely at fault for the problem.

A few years ago a dealer had a Davenport single barrel on Gunsamerica for $350.00. Description and pics looked good. He listed it as an eight gauge but his description said, I believe this is an eight gauge. I emailed him and said if it was an eight gauge I would take it. He replied, again stating, it looks like an eight gauge to me but he wouldn't commit. I emailed again and asked him to check the bore, drop a shell in it, etc. He emailed back me back with the comment, It doesn't matter, it is what it is. Apparently he didn't know what that is was. I finally gave up. BTW, at that time he had numerous listings for older shotguns and his username was Dave's Antique Guns {not the real name} or some such so he wasn't some guy selling one gun with no experience in firearms.

Bob Blair, Unfortunately SLY is still around. It was the most frustrating and dishonest dealing that I have ever had.Beware
