FWIW, I've never seen a Charlin with skip line checkering. I don't believe I've ever seen a Manufrance with anything but skip line checkering. Unless it is done flawlessly, it doesn't look as good as regular, good quality checkering. That might be my taste (or, lack thereof) poking it's little pointed head out, but, I rather like regular checkering better. That straight stock Charlin will look much nicer with some checkering on it. Lots of people here in the states can do great work. Like I said, I've used Carol at Ahlman's with good success, but, there are others. Good Luck!
Best, Ted

If you're not chucking it in the cradle tonite, I'll look around at Photobucket to see if there's a photo of my straight stock Charlin that shows the checkering.
JC, do you own "LeSuperfix" stacker in your foto? There is one on GunBroker currently.

Not a very good foto. Not much better. It's a point pattern based on the diamond front and rear; nothing very radical. jack

Lapin, none of them are mine. I found the photos here . Keith, here is what they had, not very clear: JC

Geno, The fluted comb on that Lunette gives it away as a restock. A recent restock, by the way. Compare it with Jay Cee's later gun.
Keep trying.

Restocked, but owner says it was exact copy of original one. I wouldn't show it otherwise. Take a look Manufrance catalogs, you'll find more.

Thanks for all the info and pics guys! If anyone has/finds a shot of a Charlin fore end, I can still use it.
Ted, thanks for the suggestion of Carol at Ahlmans--they are fairly close to me. I'll give them a shout.
