Yeah, my uncle has my great uncles Springfield and it is in the 9000 serial number range. We used to watch my great uncle shoot it when we were little,over 60 years ago. He used to kill deer with it in Iowa, before there were many deer to shoot, during the depression.My brother still has some ammo he gave us that is dated 1909.
