So, is an early manufacture date (more fragile, single heat-treated) truly the kiss of death for early Springfields? Should we just throw those guns away, or is the hype overdone? Full disclosure, I own one of these, and have put a lot of modern .30-06 ammo through it. Should I still be concerned? Is there a "safest" choice of loads? Thanks. TT
