I sent a buttplate and a new screw off to be engraved recently. I got the buttplate back nicely done, but the screw was not touched. Mostly due to timing I would prefer not to send it back to the first guy. Does anyone have any suggestions of someone who could do a reasonable job for not a ton of money? Any idea what this might cost? It's an A-grade Fox triggerplate screw, nothing fancy, and I have the buggered original to copy.

I'll get the information for you David. She lives in CT and she has done some engraving for me and is good and quite reasonable.
I'll get back to you soon.

Okay, it's Noelle Feucht and her e-mail address was (last time I communicated with her) noelle_at_akr@hotmail.com
I understand Abe Chaber uses her skills from time to time.

dobson5, I'm gonna take a well educated guess that there is a scam at the link you have posted. If not, please explain your posts.

dobson5 is not alone as there have been several of these unusual posts here recently. All are laced with links for things like hockey teams, pandoras box, discount golf clubs, etc. I am assuming that clicking on these links that are totally off topic will download viruses, worms, bots, and other bad things. The verbiage and sentence structure suggest that these posts have a foreign origin. I assume most of us are smart enough to not even let our cursor get near these links, but I fear it is only a matter of time before one of these posts includes a link that appears to be double gun related. I've noticed that some of these spurious posts seem to get promptly deleted, by Dave Weber or someone else with site administrator priveledges I assume. I appreciate that. You would think there would be technology to track down these hackers and torture them or something.

It's most likely an automated bot. Things are clever these days they can register and create posts without human hands. Dave needs to put in an image based authentication system for creating new accounts.

Does the automated bot engrave screwheads? Cuz I'll click on it if it does...it's just a work computer!

Anyone care to guess what a simple a-grade fox screw would cost to be engraved? Any other suggestions, please keep them coming. Thanks!

David,

Not to complicate the issue, but wouldn't it do well to contact a few engravers and ask the question to them? The rest of us don't know any better than you.

I don't think Ken Hurst is hard to find, and he certainly isn't hard to talk to.

Good luck,

For folks that have a relationship with an engraver or two, then its a low cost or no cost proposition, "ahh just send it on down here an I'll knock it out for ya" type deal.

If you really don't have a relationship with an engraver, where you have sent work to him in the past and will do so in the future, then for the engraver its more of a PITA .

Send it back to the engraver that did the work on the BP, if you don't want to do that Google has lots of engravers, after all It's a screw.
