If the 127 holds the position just ahead of the flats on the underside of the left tube, it may be some sort of an ID number for the craftsman that peformed the task of knitting the tubes to the action. Many times the initials of the mechanic are found in that position(see next to last pic with initials CFW here: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=185651886 ).




Otherwise it may be an assembly number. Type of striker?

I'd say you are correct. Any initials or number on the underside of the left tube just ahead of the flats and what type strikers might it have?
