Researcher Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 5,946 Likes: 144 WA/AK	My shortest splinter forearms are on early smallbore (28-gauge and .410-bore) NID Ithacas at 7-inches, but later NIDs are 8 3/4 inches long. 1926 28-gauge above and 1935 28-gauge below. Most of my Ansley H. Fox splinter forearms run 7 3/4 to 8-inches long, but the forearms on a 32-inch barrel 16-gauge and a 30-inch barrel 20-gauge are 8 1/4 inches. My longest splinter is the 9-inch forearm on a 32-inch barrel 12-gauge XE-Grade.
