Well I missed this one. Never seen one in that caliber... Harvest is underway and I plain forgot about this one. Gunbroker Hollenbeck I hope somebody here got it and can give a good report on it. You are lucky I forgot about it or it would have been a lot higher...

Reb, do you know if drool damages a keyboard???
Any idea if the .22 barrel is RF or WCF? A very neat gun in either case.

Hate to throw salt in an open wound... but DAMN that seems like alot of gun for a reasonable ammount of money!
I do hope it was one of our people here that was the lucky winner.

From the looks of the breech face it would seem to be rimmed center fire?
Very nice:)

Probably .22WCF or what the Europeans would call 5.35R "Vierling"(?). A good small game caliber in its day; comparable to our .22WRM ballistics. (Ned Roberts thought it was a deer and medium-sized varmint ctg; on the other hand, he REALLY could shoot!)
Hope the bore is still good; many of these got fairly badly wiped out by not cleaning after using black powder and corrosive primers or shooting too many Hornet jacketed bullets in them. Altho it looks to me like whoever owned that one knew how to treat a fine firearm!

I've seen them chambered for .22 WCF and .22-15-60 Stevens. I've seen dealedrs advertising ones chambered for the .22 WCF as a .22 Hornet. I doubt they were designed for Hornet pressures!! However, the hole in the muzzle of that barrel looks bigger then a .22 to me. I'll check my records when I get home, serial 499.
