Saw an A.J. Aubrey today seemed to be 80/90 percent. Damascus barrels, engraved receiver, serial numbers 294x( if I remember), definately only 4 numbers. chokes f x f. Wondering what it could be worth and the engravings remind me of some I have seen on LC Smith and Ithaca. Could this gun have been built by either Ithaca or LC Smith?

A.J. AUBREY was a brand name lower to middle priced gun made by the Meridan Firearms Company (not Parker) marketed through sporting goods and department stores (I believe J.C. Penny) and also sold through mail order. They were well made and gave a lot of value for the money IMO.

Depending on a number of factors, including model, gauge and condition the gun could be worth $400 to several thousand. Pictures and a complete description would be needed. That is a very early gun. It was produced in late 1905. For more info see my article in the DGJ Spring 2010.

The gun was made by Sears in Meriden, CT. AJ Aubrey ran the operation. His name was on the gun until he parted ways in 1910. http://damascus-barrels.com/Aubrey.html

Nice gun, and nicely done auction listing.

Very nice, and details you'd be hard pressed to see if you were holding it in your hands under the lighting found in most gun shows.

I know nothing about "Made to Order" Aubrey's, but these short segments of barrel certainly appear to be 3 Iron, not '5 blade' or '6 blade'
