Not near as ugly as foolishness. Or, a King with no clothes...

Eight years of labor, and your friend gets flat top diamonds in a checkering pattern of not quite the level of agricultural simplicity? I have a 1946 Hurd Super Caster fishing reel with more inspired checkering. What you mistake for envy, is simply, unimpressed. I've seen better, and if you two have an internet connection, and are honest, you have, too. You guys can have my spot in the order line.
Best, Ted

I know you have, Ted.
You strike me as a sophisticated guy, with the means and taste to discern the best from the rest.
Remember:
"Les imbéciles se servent de préjugés en guise de raison."
Don't you agree?

That was written by someone with more on the stick than you.
Let's keep it simple. "El burro sabé mas que tu".
From me to you. Let me know how it goes buying low and selling high when your fainting spell is past.

Why not get this post back on track. You guys have written 2 pages of junk that has nothing to do with the original question. I doubt Greg has any interest in your personal squabbles.

Back on topic....they are out there if you are patient and know when to pull the trigger. I saw this Holland, knew the price was right and did not hesitate as there were others with an interest in it. A self-opener built in 1924 cased and very original.

Greg you have enough money to play with so why buy used?? Granted London guns are magical in every sense of the word but if it doesn’t fit you or was made for some one that is twice as big or half the size of you then that perfect balance is lost. And as Ted said we don’t hunt like the British hunt. With that kind of money to play with why don’t you get yourself a gun built especially for you either at CSMC, but I know you aren’t real thrilled with American built guns, OR you can get yourself a Spanish built gun from Arietta or the like that is built for you. Whether behind a dog or otherwise when that bird flushes you need something that will snap to your shoulder and not get hung up on a shirt or jacket sleeve.

I'd look for a Killer looking gun from a 2nd tier, or less well known maker....instead of chasing a 12k Purdey, or H&H etc A Lovely Scott or or something (notb that I think a fine Scott is inferior to anything) Good luck Franc
