i have been watching a 12 guage sxs miguel larranaga nicely engraved sidelock shotgun missing the forend for cheap money 190.00 shipped. im wondering if there is a source for these parts. and is the gun worth the trouble and is it a quality gun? basically something to play with. any help?

One of the Basque Gunmakers and I'm fairly certain they are no longer in business. The part would have been handmade so more or less impossible to match up. Lagopus.....

Hello Pod,

Did some digging in spanish websites and only came up with a couple of
Miguel Larrañaga doubles for sale (a little used 12 bore sidelock for Eur.190.-)
and a post of someone asking for directions about the maker because he had problems with one that did not get any answers.

I'd stay away, especially considering what one in good working order is going for. JMTC.
