I've only been an owner/operator for a few months now. Jas is a 14 month old choc Lab and the broker I bought her from recommended the chicken/rice Iams. No telling what she was on at the breeder's. We had her on it for a month or so and noted she was itching and had tremendously bad flakey skin. The vet recommended going to the Lamb/rice as she said some of the hormones chicken are fed can cause reactions in some dogs.

Iams lamb/rice is 22% crude protein, 12% crude fat, 5% crude fiber.

I'm new at this and glad this subject came up.

The one comment about the dog having more lasting energy has me wondering, wouldn't that be a function of increased carbohydrates?
