I'm trying to salvage some barrels that had external pitting. I've sanded out the rust so there's no more damage.

But what's the most efficient way to remove blueing so I can re do it properly?

Thanks!

I use a product called Steel White, from Brownell's. It works extremely well.

Emery cloth and a little elbow grease . If you use a acid based remover it can get inside the ribs and cause problems.
