Somewhere around here I have a picture of an Springfield Officer's Model 1873 Trapdoor with a cartridge trap on the top.
I have a trapdoor, cut down rifle, and have thought about that over the years but have never followed through.

A very nice rifle, I might respectfully suggest getting out to some show's sometime just to see what's going on in the trade.
