According to the link provided, it's a 1957 (c1). Thank you.
made by Victor Sarasqueta Eibar spain. the 12-70 means 12 guage, 70mm (2 3/4") chamber length so it takes shells up to that length.
850 kgs is the proof pressure level it was tested for.
There will also be a date code on the flats inside the action which can be used to tell when it was made (probably mid to later 1900s)
basically; use non-magnum 2 3/4" (or lower pressure) shells.
Light to medium loads will keep both you and the gun happiest and do a fine job on the receiving end.
V. Sarasqueta was a good maker of mostly midrange shotguns that are considered to be good values for the money.
You need to give a better description, and/or pictures of the gun and the action before anyone can tell you which model it likely is.
I assume it is a SxS Yes, i's SXS(they did make some O/U target guns).
Is it a boxlock, or sidelock? The company made mostly boxlock guns with many of them having false sideplates that make them look like sidelocks.
Single trigger or double triggers?double trigger
Is the stock straight or does it have a pistol grip?It looks like a pistol grip
Is the forend a "splinter" type or a wider/fatter beavertail shape? It looks slinder, it's thinner than the barrels and doesn't curve or have any round shapes to it.
How elaborate and extensive is the engraving on the frame?
How fancy is the wood and checkering? It's not that elaborate like the pictures I saw online for $2000
Condition of wood, action and barrels? When you take the forend off is there any "play" when you grap/wiggle the barrels side to side?
Any obvious wear/rust/pits inside or out?
Any alterations (cut stock/added recoil pad, cut barrels, screw-in choke tubes or fixed chokes)?
It is a modern shotgun made to be used daily and should not be a closet queen. take reasonable care of it and it will last for many years giving you lots of enjoyment.
$1000-$1500 is the likely price range for most of them in good condition.
Thanks for the quick replies. I appreciate the help.
