I'm happy with the part and consider it fortunate for all of us that have mdl 21's that they still make and sell parts. But its called Customer Service, not Customer Get Screwed, you bought the gun or part. I've praised on here the companies that I've gotten exceptional service from ex, Hevi-shot, Leupold, Blazer. I wish CSMC was on that list too.

i mean you no disrespect but you were asking about a SCREW. if every customer called about stuff like that people in sales would go loco in no time at all!

The proper response to a customer with a question should always be the same. "Sir, I don't know but I will find out and call you back". Anything less means they don't give a rat. The customer who calls about a screw and gets a good response may order a $20,000 gun on the next phone call.

For me, the frustration with CSMC is the inconsistency - you never know what are you going to get with their customer service. I bought an RBL from them last November - I had an issue with the rib soldering which they fixed quickly and effectively.

I went back to them this summer and bought a used Beretta 687 EELL. Upon seeing that the lever was left of center, I asked about the tightness of the action and was assured it was tight. My gunsmith then inspected the gun and assured me it was not tight. CSMC agreed to take the gun back and fix it in two weeks. The gun came back a month later, my gunsmith looked at it again, and informed me that no work had been done on the action. The gun is now back at CSMC for a second time (if I didn't love the gun so much, I would have sent it back for good).

I want to be a fan of theirs but they just don't make it easy.

Friends:
Hammergun is correct. Respect and courtesy in the disposition of a simple replacement screw can only result in the enhancement of a very valuable business commodity called "Good Will."

It is apparent that CSMC does little to foster that dimension in a marketplace that relies upon it as a pillar of success. And there is an eventual penalty for that neglect. Just ask GM. Short for whatever name you like these days.

That's exactly right. They ran me off several years ago with an attempt to double close me on an advertised gun, but that's another story. I do understand them not wanting to act as unpaid consultants, however... it's a well known fact that only the first sale is made in the showroom - all others are made in the service department.

Contrast a recent purchase of a set of barrels I made from duPont Krieghoff. I was treated as if I was buying the most expensive gun in the place. Simply outstanding service in every respect. Guess where I'll buy that Super Scroll K-80 someday?
