I bought an H grade Lefever last year in need of lots of TLC. I noticed that one trigger sear notch has been welded and re-cut and the other complete sear is homemade. Who knows if the welded sear was properly re-hardened and who knows what material was used to make the replacement? I need to find replacement parts before I put this one back in service. The welded original could probably be salvaged. Both sides hold the hammers back, but for how long? I don't trust them.

I had a sear notch fracture on a brand new Colt Trooper MkIII .357 mag. The failure happened within the first 100 rounds. There was no accidental discharge. It wouldn't stay cocked and the hammer fell harmlessly with the transfer bar down. It doesn't have to be a cheap worn out gun to fail. Keep those muzzles pointed in a safe direction.
