Russ Ruppel walked me through the making of a home made set of 10 to 12ga inserts a decade or more ago.
There was a machine shop next door to my employer at the time and one of the machinists liked a challenge.
I took him the barrels of my Scott 10ga, the barrels of my Scott 12ga and two of my Ballard 10ga brass cases.
I asked that the inserts match the 12ga chambers as closely as possible.
I used those inserts (without slit) for many hundreds/thousands of rounds.
I posted a step by step photo essay of them being made and used. Long gone from the archives before jOe blessed us with his presence. I may have the pictures on the external hard drive I use for back-ups but I don't feel the need to dig them out.
