Dave, the forend has nothing to do with ejector timing. Don't worry about ejector timing until you get the lever to get into proper position. Judging from the expenses you are about to incurr from Coles, I suggest you do it yourself. I have never sent a Beretta out for barrel fitting. Maybe you should take my advice to clean out the holes and then take pictures to show us how far the lever goes over. If those who look at the pictures pronounce the gun safe to fire, you should test fire the gun and let us know how things work. If the lever position can be marked, observe how far the locking lugs extend at that lever position. If it is a comfortable position, shoot the gun twenty five times to see if things work well and maybe the lever will come home a bit. Let us know. This is the way I fit my Beretta barrels if I don't have a Beretta gunsmith to help me.

I've got to agree with 8Bore. I've fitted Beretta barrels to two guns with no problems including my current SC gun. Ejector timing is no big deal just take it slow.

Thanks all. The top lever is in exactly the same position a brand new beretta top lever is...just right of center. The two ends of the U-bolt protrude .105 when the top lever is in the same position as when barrels are closed, it's only an RCH less than it does when the original barrels are on it. I cannot close the gun on a piece of newspaper, it's too tight. The locking bolt recesses are clean as whistle.

Pretty sure all is well and good, and unless I hear a loud shout from the back row here I'm going to just call it good and not look back.

Thanks for all the help.

Dave

PS - taking the wood off the action and the iron will probably let you see what the situation is with the ejectors.
