Yes Italian proofmarks, also italian inscription Soc. It. Vera, maybe Societa Italiana Vera, could mean Genuine Italian Society or similar; or maybe Vera is the name of the Italian company that produced/sold/exported the gun (I don't speak Italian; but can curse a bit).
The other insription seems to be of American importer, JJ. Co. of New York City (JJ.Co.NYC also found on surplus military bolt rifles).
