I am looking for an early Buehler scope mount base for a 1903 Springfield. It is a long one piece base that is simply stamped 03 on the bottom of the base. The front scope ring mounts ahead of the front receiver ring screws. It is a longer base than the later Code 03 short model.

If you have one you would part with please PM me the condition and what you value it at.

Many thanks

Idared,

It's your lucky day. I have a mint Buehler 1903 base complete with original 1" rings, for which I have no immediate need. PM sent with details and photos.

Maynard Buehlers surviving partner is still selling old stock as of 5 min. ago.

give Bob Ray a call

I just spoke with him and he says he has a base for a 1903, code S, that has a 5" ring spacing, hard to fit modern scopes. The newer model was the SS and that's gone. Still has rings though.

Since the original query has been answered, I will mention that I have a couple of NOS Buehler bases I could live without (ratty boxes, fine metal). The first is a one piece Remington 700-721-725 or Weatherby Mark V base. The second is a one piece BL-U blank Micro-Dial (adjustable base) for gunsmith fitting to non-cataloged rifles. It is flat on the bottom and undrilled in front, also NOS. If anyone needs either of these send me a PM and we will work something out with a contribution to Dave. I would also trade either piece for a NOS Buehler safety for either a 98 or a Swedish Mauser (96).
