But it still French, ten lines of proof that tell you very little. The French proof house must have been paid by the letter.

Actually, the marks on Geoffroy's example tell you more, and more specifically, than those on most doubles. 850 kg proof, which is the modern CIP standard.

Interesting gun. If trimming the buttstock would get the weight down enough, it'd be a good one--as long as you remember that an Ideal safety is forward for on, back for off.

Didn't last long. Shipped to "another store" for customer. While I had the gun boudoir guy on the phone, I asked if the Michigan store could ship C&R. No, he says, can't do for in-state buyer nor for out-of-state buyer. And "modern ammo is available for the gun" which means (to the state Of Michigan? to this guy?) that the magic 50th gun birthday is not the criterion for C&R eligibility. Good grief!!

I was sorely tempted to make a run at it, but resisted the urge smile

I could have lived with the big shoulder on the monobloc and KYJ is right that reducing the extension (even leaving a 1/2" slab and recheckering the butt end) would have put it in the "fits" category lgthwise for a lot of us. Made it look like an Italian-built W&S-720 and I could live with that. Also looked like it had an intact sling as the disconnect was in place in the slot but I didn't ask.

I bought the gun. Haven't received it yet.

This is what they told me.

The sling works and has a new strap.
Shiney bores
Tight and on face.
LOP 14" from the front trigger to the original wood.
Barrels recently reblacked and a good job.
Choked 18 and 20
Ejectors work, right only, left only, left right, right left
Good triggers, 4 lbs both

I will update after I get the gun.

Best,

Mike

Lucky you, I'd love to have had that gun. Don't worry about the shoulders on the monoblock, you won't see them when you're shooting it (I used to have a Robust with the same monoblock construction).
