I can't comment specifically about the shotgun you are considering, but I had a similar experience with a Charles Lancaster double rifle.

My rifle, a "B" grade, had a "0" prefix serial number and was clearly made on a Webley action (a model PHV-1). It was chambered in .280NE Flanged. Nevertheless, it was made to very high standards and had many features that differentiated it from a garden variety Webley PHV-1. For instance, it had barrels made and signed by Charles Lancaster, its action was sculptured, and the stock was a POW configuration quite unlike a Webley. Also, its engraving was different from the Webley patterns.

The Webley actions are a great platform for another maker to build on.

Here's a look at the rifle I'm talking about:

In my opinion that rifle is of very high quality with exquisite fit and finish. I would gladly own it again.

Just my $0.02 worth, but it cost you nothing!
